Kerala CITU leader stabbed during anti-Uber protest at Kochi; One detained

Kochi: CITU Eranakulam District President and trade union leader K N Gopinath stabbed while he was attending a protest conducted against Uber online taxi at Kochi. Incident was just after he inaugurated the protest which was held nearby Uber office at Palarivattam. He was rushed to Eranakulam Medical trust hospital and admitted in intensive care unit.

He has stab marks on neck. Unnikrishnan, an uber driver and native of Vadakara is detained by Palarivattam police and he is being interrogated by officers at Palarivattam police station. Police doesnt disclose

In Kochi, Auto-Taxi drivers protesting against Uber since the online taxi giant came to city to operations. Some of the Uber drivers also protesting against company’s differed policies. Recently uber was being alleged for suicide of a driver.
