ലൈക്ക് മാത്രമല്ല, ഇനി ചിരിയും സ്‌നേഹവും ദേഷ്യവും അതിശയമൊക്കെ ഫേസ്ബുക്കിലൂടെ പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാം. ലൈക്ക് ബട്ടണിനൊപ്പം അഞ്ചു റിയാക്ഷന് ബട്ടണുകളും ഫേസ്ബുക്ക് അവതരിപ്പിച്ചത്. ഡിസ്‌ലൈക്ക് ബട്ടണ്‍ എന്ന ആശയത്തിന് പകരമായി റിയാക്ഷന് ബട്ടന്‍ പ്രാവര്‍ത്തികമാക്കുമെന്ന് കമ്പനി മേധാവി മുന്‍പേ അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
ലൈക്കിന് പുറമെ സ്‌നേഹം, പൊട്ടിച്ചിരി, അതിശയം, സങ്കടം, ദേഷ്യം എന്നിവയാണ് പുതിയ റിയാക്ഷന് സ്‌മൈലികള്‍. ഓരോ പോസ്റ്റിനും എത്ര ലൈക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു എന്നതു പോലെ എത്ര റിയാക്ഷന്‍സ് ലഭിച്ചുമെന്നും വേര്‍തിരിച്ചു അറിയാന്‍ കഴിയും. ലൈക്ക് ബട്ടണിന് മുകളില്‍ മൗസ് എത്തുമ്പോള്‍ പോപ്പ്അപ്പ് ആയി ഇമോഷനുകളടങ്ങുന്ന പുതിയ ലിസ്റ്റ് പൊങ്ങിവരും. തുടര്‍ന്ന് ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളത് തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാം. അയര്‍ലണ്ട്, ജപ്പാന്‍, സ്‌പെയിന്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഒക്ടോബറില്‍ നടത്തിയ പരീക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷമാണ് മറ്റിടങ്ങളിലേക്കും പുതിയ ഫീച്ചര്‍ ലഭ്യമാക്കി തുടങ്ങിയത്.

Sometimes you want to share something sad or frustrating. Our community has been asking for a dislike button for years, but not because people want to tell friends they don’t like their posts. People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the right way to do this with our team. One of my goals was to make it as simple as pressing and holding the Like button. The result is Reactions, which allow you to express love, laughter, surprise, sadness or anger. Love is the most popular reaction so far, which feels about right to me!

നേരത്തെ ലൈക്ക് ബട്ടണും കമന്റ് ഓപ്ഷനും മാത്രമായിരുന്നു ഫേസ്ബുക്കിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. മനോവികാരങ്ങള്‍ പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഓപ്ഷനില്ല എന്ന പരാതിയെ വ്യാപകമായതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്നാണ് കമ്പനി പുതിയ മാറ്റങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. മരണം, ബന്ധം വേര്‍പിരിയല്‍, അപകടം, ദുരന്തം, മറ്റു അനിഷ്ടസംഭവങ്ങള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ പോസ്റ്റുകള്‍ക്ക് ലൈക്ക് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് പകരം മറ്റൊരു സംവിധാനം വേണമെന്ന ആവശ്യമാണ് ഉയര്‍ന്നിരുന്നത്.
