കാലിഫോര്‍ണിയ: തനിക്ക് ക്യാന്‍സര്‍ രോഗമാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും മേഗന്‍ സല്ലിവന്‍ എന്ന യുവതി തളര്‍ന്നില്ല. തനിക്ക് മുന്നിലുള്ള ബാക്കി ജീവിതസമയം യാത്രകള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടി നീട്ടി വയ്ക്കുകയാണ് അവള്‍ ചെയ്തത്. കാറപകടത്തെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് നടത്തിയ പരിശോധനകളിലൂടെയാണ് തനിക്ക് ക്യാന്‍സര്‍ രോഗമുണ്ടെന്ന് കാലിഫോര്‍ണിയയിലെ സൗത്ത് ലേക്ക് സ്വദേശിനിയായ മേഗന്‍ അറിഞ്ഞത്.
ജീവിതത്തില്‍ അധിക കാലം ബാക്കിയില്ല എന്ന തിരിച്ചറിവ് അവളെ തളര്‍ത്തിയില്ല. ലോകം ചുറ്റണമെന്ന ആഗ്രഹത്തിനായി നാല് വര്‍ഷമായി സ്വരുക്കൂട്ടി വച്ച പണവുമായാണ് മേഗന്‍ യാത്ര ആരംഭിച്ചത്. രോഗത്തെ തോല്‍പിച്ച് ലോകത്തെ ഏഴ് അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും കണ്ട് തിരിച്ചെത്തുക എന്ന നിശ്ചയദാര്‍ഢ്യത്തോടെ മേഗന്‍ സല്ലിവന്‍ തന്റെ യാത്ര ആരംഭിച്ചു. വെറും 13 ദിവസം കൊണ്ടാണ് അവള്‍ ലോകത്തെ ഏഴ് അത്ഭുതങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടു തിരികെ നാട്ടിലെത്തിയത്.
യാത്രയ്ക്കു ശേഷം താന്‍ കണ്ട വിസ്മയങ്ങളെ അവള്‍ ലോകത്തെ അറിയിച്ചു. യാത്രാനുഭവങ്ങളും ചിത്രങ്ങളും വെബ്‌സൈറ്റിലും ഇന്‍സ്റ്റഗ്രാമിലും യൂട്യുബിലുമായി മേഗന്‍ പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തു. ഒന്നരവര്‍ഷം മുന്‍പാണ് മേഗന്‍ യാത്ര നടത്തിയത്. എന്നാല്‍ യാത്രയുടെ പുതിയ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്നും മേഗന്‍ അപ്‌ലോഡ് ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. മാത്രമല്ല ഇന്നും മേഗന്‍ ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് യാത്രകള്‍ നടത്തുന്നു.

I’m inventing a new sport: #extremewalking and a new goal of mine is to reach all the summits in Tahoe in record times.
