An 18-year-old on Tuesday gunned down 19 children and two adults at a Texas elementary school before being killed himself by police officers. The shooter, identified as Salvador Ramos, had shot his grandmother before arriving at the school for the deadly rampage. The woman remains in critical condition. The shooting, the deadliest at an elementary school since Sandy Hook massacre in Connecticut in 2012 that left 2 dead, is believed by police to have been perpetrated by the culprit alone.
Salvador crashed his car near a ditch near to the school and walked into the school premises with a rifle. He wore a body armor and had a backpack. He walked into several classrooms shooting at random. President Jo Biden has ordered US flags on federal grounds to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Saturday to honor the victims.
