Sharon’s death has been confirmed as murder from poison administered by his Ramarmanjeri native girlfriend, Greeshma. Though she swore innocence and maintained the kashayam(herbal concoction) she served Sharon was normal syrup, Greeshma cracked during questioning by Crime Branch.
The Case
Sharon, a resident of JP House in Parshala belonged to Murunkara community and had died on 25th at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College while under treatment for critical condition from unidentified cause.
On 14 October, the day that would seal his fate, Sharon – a 3rd year BSc student had visited Greeshma’s house in Kanyakumari to collect a notebook. A friend who accompanied him waited outside the house and said on TV that Sharon came out of the house vomiting. Soon Sharon developed strange illness and was referred to Thiruvananthauram Medical College where he was admitted to ICU and died on the 25th from multi-organ failure. Sharon’s parents asserted their otherwise-healthy son was poisoned by Greeshma. Tissue samples of deceased Sharon has been sent for forensic examination.
Meanwhile, Greeshma, after emerging as the prime suspect was pulled up for interrogation that began Sunday morning 10 am at the District SP’s office. During questioning, Greeshma confessed to murder, On that day, she mixed pesticide in the kashayam and served it to an unsuspecting Sharon saying it was a pain reliever. When Sharon complained of its bitter taste, she offerred him mango juice to gulp it down. He drank it and left immediately, Greeshma told investigators.
According to reports, Greeshma has another marriage fixed early next year and to her twisted mind, murdering Sharon was her way of putting the romantic past behind.
