CPI(M) elects its Kerala State Secretary MV Govindan to Polit Bureau. He was unanimously elected at the Central Committee meeting of the CPI(M) held in Delhi Monday.
MV Govindan was elected as State Secretary on 28 October after Kodiyeri Balakrishnan vacated the post owing to deteriorated health condition. MV Govindan was Minister for Local Self-govt Bodiy in the 2nd Pinarayi government, during which he was elected to the Central Committee.
MV Govindan was elected MLA from Taliparambu constituency in 1996, 2001 and 2021. He served as Vice President to All Indian Farm Workers Union and Sate President of KSKT. MV Govinadan has also held posts as CPI(M) Kasaragod Area Secretary and District Secretary in Kannur and Ernakulam. Prior to that, he served as president and secretary of DYFI.
