സി പി ഐ എം രാജ്യസഭാ കക്ഷി നേതാവായി ഡോ. ജോൺ ബ്രിട്ടാസിനെ നിയമിച്ചു. നിലവിൽ ഉപനേതാവാണ്. അഡ്വ. ബികാസ് രഞ്ജൻ ഭട്ടാചാര്യ സ്ഥാനമൊഴിഞ്ഞതിനെ തുടർന്നാണ് സി പി ഐ എം കേന്ദ്ര നേതൃത്വം ഈ തീരുമാനം കൈകൊണ്ടത്.
ഡോ. ജോൺ ബ്രിട്ടാസ് നിലവിൽ വിദേശകാര്യ സ്റ്റാൻഡിങ് കമ്മിറ്റി, പൊതുമേഖല സ്ഥാപനങ്ങൾക്കായുള്ള പബ്ലിക് അണ്ടർടേക്കിങ് കമ്മിറ്റി, ഐടി വകുപ്പ് ഉപദേശക സമിതി തുടങ്ങിയവയിൽ അംഗമാണ്.
The CPI(M) has appointed Dr. John Brittas as the leader of its Rajya Sabha parliamentary party. Currently the deputy leader, he was appointed as the Rajyasabha group leader by the CPI(M) central leadership as Adv. Bikas Ranjan Bhattacharya relinquished his responsibility.
Dr . John Brittas is a member of the Standing Committee on External Affairs, the Committee on Public Undertakings and the Advisory Committee on the Department of IT.
